Hi,
I recently installed Arch and can't seem to adjust the screen brightness.
I'm running xfce4 with the applet that allows me to change brightness and it just says: no output device
I also tried xbacklight and it says: No outputs have backlight property
I have these kernel parameters set: nomodeset acpi_backlight=vendor acpi_osi=Linux
All to no avail.
My video card is a Radeon 6950 and I'm using the catalyst drivers from AUR so I have fglrx
Anyone know how I can fix this?

Does your system have a directory called /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/ ?? If so, what are the files in the directory ?

I have an acer aspire laptop and the only way I could adjust the brightness was with
acpi_osi= in the kernel line and I can only adjust the brightness with the Fn keys. The files in /sys/class/backlight never change...

@ewaller I only have /sys/class/backlight and there's nothing in it.
