I followed the wiki site for VMware https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VMware

Big thanks to Stefano who helped me to solve this error!
First uninstall vmware
[alifaan@dellalifaan ~]$ vmware-installer -l
Product Name Product Version
==================== ====================
vmware-workstation 8.0.0.471780
[alifaan@dellalifaan ~]$ vmware-installer -u vmware-workstation
Then unlink the following links
sudo unlink /etc/rc.d/vmware
sudo unlink /etc/rc.d/vmware-workstation-server
Next remove old patch
sudo rm /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source/.patched
Now is time to reinstall vmware again. Follow the installation instructions https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VM … stallation
For patch use commands under 3.2 kernels and don't forget to install vmware module.
