Evince doesn't save session infos

Evince should remember last position of every opened pdf files, but for me it doesn't work.
This topic is marked solved, even though there
was no actual solution for the problem, just switching to another pdf viewer application.
I've found this ticket on bugzilla, with last comment
saying it should be reopened, still its marked as resolved/fixed.

So i was wondering, if u guys got any solution about it? If not, where's the best place to report it?

install gvfs

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28051

evince uses gvfs to store metadata about files a user opens. I think a session itself is not stored with gvfs, but things like the last viewed page of a document are stored in the gvfs metadata.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

You should have dconf installed also.

Re: Evince doesn't save session infos

This post seems somehow outdated, but I had the same problem. The thing is, that I launch my ~/.xsession file using slim by executing

exec ~/.xsession

In order to get gvfs to work (which is needed for evince session saving), I had to run my xsession file via

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session ~/.xsession

I hope this helps!
