Hello,

Bravo for your work fouinix.

Two little questions :

- How can we use entrance ? entrance --help says that we have to use entranced but it doesn't seem to be in the package.

- The evolume package seems to be corrupted for a few days.

Entranced should be located in /etc/rc.d

and Evolume, what is your problem? is the package corrupted on the server? or are you having trouble with running it? (it only supports alsa at the moment)

Re: e17-cvs packages

Thanks for your help and your work on the new packages. That was so... evident. I am confused having posted such a stupid question

The package is corrupted on the server.
By the way, I can't build the package from CVS because of the University proxy. Is there any way to do that ?

Take a good look at what I did though... There are a lot of files to think about with Entrance. I never did solve the issue of booting non-E17 desktops... sad

Re: e17-cvs packages

Fouinix: There's a new version of evolume, and then there are a new module called slideshow (which will slide through background images)

all modules seem to be found here now: http://get-e.org/Resources/Modules/index.html

do you want a pkgbuild for slideshow? otherwise I believe it will work with any PKGBUILD of the ones of evolume/ecalendar [/code]

Statistic of the fouiny_repo :
Stats_1005.jpg

Yes, ~24 Go of transfert for october smile

Ok for eVolume, I update the repo asap.

Also, I have a question :
It is possible to do a partial update of the repo ?
Gensync cause problem when I do not update totally the repo (problem with date).
exemple, if i want to update only evolume today, I need to recompile all e17-cvs for updating my fouiny_repo.db.tar.gz sad

hmm..strange, although It must work...(look at community, they can't update all  packages everytime they add/remove a package)

can't you just run gensync /path/to/pkgbuilds /path/to/compiledpackages/fouiny_repo.db.tar.gz

?

Re: e17-cvs packages

Founix: Important update to E17

quote is taken from the mailinglists of E17

maybe it is time to make a e17-modules group?! since every module in e_modules need to have it's own pkgbuild

Hi All

Just a quick note to advise the e_modules directory has been removed from cvs.

This was due to concern regarding the increasing number of modules being commited, and the likely hood these would be left unmaintained .

These are now all updated and available from get-e.org (thanks devilhorns) .

Module authors can now contact the get-e team for access to the site to maintain their code and provide updates.

Please also note that modules_extra has been removed from the default E module search path and modules need to be installed to ,

$PREFIX/lib/enlightenment/modules or,
~/.e/e/modules

Regards
Dale (swishy) Anderson.

Yep
It's time to make an e17-modules group and create each pkgbuild.

I believe that I will be obliged to make an update of the repositary earlier than I had envisaged it sad

Re: e17-cvs packages

maybe we should wait a day or two..there are some arguments on the mailing lists that suggest that this desicion (to remove e_modules from cvs) was made by 2 people and not the community

Re: e17-cvs packages

Hmm... for some reason I stopped getting notifications of posts in this thread, so I've missed some of the discussion above.

A couple of things:

evfs: I've been having troubles compiling evfs as well for a few days now, and it seems to me that is is currently broken... will try to compile again in a moment smile

entrance: I'm using shadowhands PKGBUILD for this one (in fact, I took over shadowhands entire pkgbuild-tree and have been working from there, altering a few things). However, I've always had problems with entrance, ranging from its refusal to fire a WM/DE, or it hogging the processor to 100% resulting in  a forced X-restart.

opengl-e: Good lord! I'd love to have this working. I've been trying a little myself but have never succeded...

Cheers!

the builtin eap-editor ( i suspct that is the one you are referring too) is far from complete...but you may use e_utils_eap p_edit

Re: e17-cvs packages

Something isn't right here. Every time I pacman -Syu, I get this:

:: e_utils-cvs: local (20051030-1) appears to be newer than repo (fouiny_repo/20051029-1)
:: eclair-cvs: local (20051030-1) appears to be newer than repo (fouiny_repo/20051029-1)
:: Above packages will be skipped. To manually upgrade use 'pacman -S <pkg>'

Targets: express-cvs-20051029-1

Total Package Size: 0.1 MB

Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n]

If I say Y, it installs the same version of express again, and the next time I get exactly the same thing. If I manually upgrade e_utils and eclair, it still thinks I have a newer version installed the next time I upgrade. What the.... ? Is my package database corrupted? I've already tried -Rcsn'ing the offending packages, followed by -Scc and then reinstalling them. Doesn't help.

I wish life was as simple as editing config files

Re: e17-cvs packages

well, it does seem that you have done local versions of the packages, which seems to be newer than the ones on founix repo..

nothing strange with that, either uninstall your existing versions or just wait until founix repo becomes newer than your local versions...

EDIT: Just read your post more carefully....it is quite strange...

Re: e17-cvs packages

I have the same errors with pacman'd packages. Something is fubar on the repo. I am going to get the latest e build today and see if I can get it to compile so I can post the pkg build for all those waiting for opengl.. I don't know what they did to the code yesterday but e wouldn't compile at all.
