SIGUSR1 hot-key

Hi guys.

XFCE4 running here. When I dd a bluray/dvd/cd to my disk, I want to check in the xfce4 terminal how far dd's got. You can do that with ps aux | grep dd, look up the pid and then send it kill -SIGUSR1 [pid]. Can I assign a hot-key to it? Like there's CTRL+C for kill signal...
