hi to all i just have switched from ubuntu to arch linux.and i found this os like a rocket.arch linux has really amazed me
now my problem is i am using dell optiplex gx745 which uses intel q965 chipset.last night i set up arch.and installed intalled xorg, intel video driver and gnome.every thing is working fine the problem is when i change my screen resolution from 1600 *1200 to 1280*1024 my screen crashes and i am not able to do any thing.
i think there is a driver problem. In ubuntu i have never faced a problem like that..even in ubuntu i use gnome shell.
fyi when i edit grub menu to nomodeset=0 the screen crash problem was solved ang gnome started in classic session.but it did not gave me 1280*1024 resolution mode.plz help to solve my problem

Hi, welcome to the forums Sarmad93. Can you make the thread title a little more descriptive? Include what the problem is about (and remove the word "help", people only post here when they want help). You want readers to quickly be able to judge whether this topic covers their expertise and if they can help you or not. Forum Etiquette: How to Post

And please post some logs, kernel output, Xorg log (if you use Xorg), etc.
