[solved]improve battery capacity

hey

on laptop wiki page i decided to use laptop mode tools for larger capacity, followed its wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Laptop_Mode_Tools but only managed to raise the capacity from 2h to 2.5h

used same settings given on that page expect for screen brightness which i set manually via fn key

are there more general tips or what could i do to improve the battery's capacity?

thanks in advance

edit: forgot to mention it's almost new battery and has been tested on windows7 lasting 4-5 hours

Re: [solved]improve battery capacity

I went with using the handler.sh to do my powersavings, on my laptop I am getting close to 3hrs which is really good for the powerhog, best has been 3.75hrs, I am still working on it and hoping to get a reliable 4hrs (qosmio505-887). There are some great example handler.sh's on the forums and on gituhub.
https://github.com/altercation/x220-arc … handler.sh
That is the one that I used to start mine, as well as reading over the
http://lesswatts.org
has lots of info that I added into the script.

Re: [solved]improve battery capacity

Well you do realize most of the scripts are tweaked to the model that is being used by the person who is posting there's as an example. It is not a copy and paste solution to use those scripts unless you find someone with exactly the same model and specs as yours and they did the research. For mine I could not even copy most of what others had posted for other toshibas.

If you solved it do not forget to mark solved.
