system not upgrading..

Sorry i have commented on other's thread regarding this problem
now i have created this thread..

I have just installed archlinux.. & i m new in arch linu..
I ran pacman -Syu command
pacman has downloaded the updates but its not installing the upgrades
when i m updating my system it showing--

error: failed to commit transaction(conflicting files)
file system: /etc/mtab exists in filesystem
initscripts: /etc/profile.d/locale.sh exists in filesystem
Errors occurred,no package were upgraded

tell me what to do..

These are both available on the home page.  Be sure to check that page regularly if you continue with arch.

Asking questions that are clearly answered there will often not be met too graciously, however, for the moment it seems the interventions required in some of the available installation iso's are falling deeper into the news 'history'.

EDIT: I suspect you'll also need to read the pacman 4 note and the kmod note.  These are more prominently visible on the main page.
