Alright, I'm rewriting this whole thing. My problem right now is that I have a macbook pro dual booted and I want to know what I need to do to the /boot/initramfs-linux.img to let it boot arch from grub2.
Right now I just get this: "ERROR: Unable to determine major/minor number of root device" and a recovery shell.
It works with the fallback image, so I'm using that for now, but I'd like to know how to fix it.
I've looked around, and it seems the fix used to be to add pata_macio to MODULES in /etc/mkinicpio.conf and rebuild that image (with mkinitcpio). But when I do that i get errors that say pata_macio is not found.
Thanks,
Xerict

Hi Xerict,
just a question, did your mac have any problems to boot?
I tried with arch boot usb stick and it doesn't work (it doesn't even appear in the list of bootable options at the start).
On the other hand, the same usb stick on a recent MacBook Air boots without any problem.
Thanks, Elisiano
