Hello everyone!
I recently started using Arch Linux and think it's a really nice distro.
I installed it on my old Asus laptop and experience some problems with it: it's running really hot, although the fans seem to run at full speed (very loud) and there are no programmes running except for a browser. The tempereture goes as high as 90C. The CPU is used at ca. 10...15%
Do you have any advices how to resolve the issue?
This is the system info:
CPU:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz
GPU:
ATI Technologies Inc M76 [Radeon Mobility HD 2600 Series]
Audio:

Network:

Network:
RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller
Network:

I run a basic 64bit setup with KDE 4.8 ontop of it...
Thank you))

I had a problem with ATI overheating when using open source drivers, so I installed Catalyst and it solved the issue.
90C is a bit too much, though.

I'm kernel 3.11 and ATI Radeon card with open drivers installed and I got over 60C reading with lm-sensors.
I add this to the kernel parameters line in grub:
radeon.dpm=1
and I set conservative governor in laptop-mode-tools.
After that I got below 50C, some times 52.
I hope it helps.
