"unable to find root device '/dev/sda1'" in a fresh install

Hello all
I just installed arch x86_64 and everything works with no problems. But if I update the system with the -Syu and reboot, it outputs

unable to find root device '/dev/sda1'

when it tries to boot. I tried reinstalling it a couple of times. The same thing happens. I'm not changing any config files like mkinit, fstab and so on.
Can anybody help me?
