transmission prevents computer from entering suspend state

I start transmission-gtk minimized in the systray and it prevents unmounting volume /mnt/*** when I try to hibernate or suspend
I've opted for the transmission as a daemon and managing torrents from web interface . Now the volume can be unmount and suspension works
My question is regarding this transmission-daemon is it safe running it as such:
from the /etc/conf.d/tranmissiond

TRANSMISSION_HOME=/home/myuser
TRANS_USER="myuser"
TRANS_ARGS="-g $TRANSMISSION_HOME/.config/transmission-daemon"

?
it;s a single-user account on this machine and root

Re: transmission prevents computer from entering suspend state

I renounced transmission-daemon because of high cpu when managing torrent from web
now is there any way to make transmission-gtk stop and start when resuming hibernation?
