What's happening with the VLC package?

I see that vlc has been upgrading three times according to the db file. But my mirror does not even have the vlc 2.0-3 and vlc has been removed from ftp.archlinux.org at least for 64 bit.

 error: failed retrieving file 'vlc-2.0.0-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirror.its.dal.ca : The requested URL returned error: 404
warning: failed to retrieve some files from extra
error: failed to commit transaction (download library error)

I have manually installed vlc 2.0.0-2 which is in my mirror. No vlc package is on main server.

Use reflector and never see this kind of shit

$ grep upp ~/.bashrc

well, you say is the main mirror but logs return something else.

The db file in the mirror says it has vlc 2.0.0-3 but really it is 2.0.0-2. On the arch server, there is no vlc package. I am figuring out this reflector tool which is pretty neat. Some mirrors have the new vlc but the actual arch server does not have vlc.

I don't understand what you are trying to say with "Arch server" since the error clearly sais mirror.its.dal.ca

On dal.ca there is vlc 2.0.0-2.

On "arch server" ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/extra/os/x86_64/ there is no vlc anymore.

you are wrong. is there but maybe you don't wait until the page is fully loaded.

The package has been recently updated and some mirrors haven't synced it up yet.

I now just did let the page fully reload and see vlc there. As for the db file, I guess it is a problem with my mirror.

@karol, with dal.ca, pacman is trying to get vlc 2.0.0-3 even though it is not yet there.

There's only one db.

You might think that every mirror keeps track of what packages it has but this is not the case, they are just mirrors after all and they should be in sync with our main server.
