[SOLVED] Battle for Wesnoth fullscreen issues

Hello everyone,

I have the following annoying issue with battle for wesnoth:

Whenever the game goes to fullscreen or starts in fullscreen it sometimes (other times it works fine) causes my system to freeze, i.e. I still see my gnome desktop and the gnome bars and a window titled "wesnoth 1.10" with all black content. I can still move the curser around but neither clicks nor keystrokes show any effect. Trying to switch to tty by CTRL+ALT+Fsomething causes the screen to go black and remain unresponsive.

I run Wesnoth 1.10 on a Lenovo Thinkpad with an onboard Intel graphics chip.

Since I am somewhat of a newbie to arch I have no Idea how to even start tracking the problem down (is it a game, gnome or graphics driver issue?) so any help would be apprechiated!

Kind Regards
DeBazthed

Re: [SOLVED] Battle for Wesnoth fullscreen issues

I get the black fullscreen with cursor too. Ctrl-q quits wesnoth.
I fixed it by setting the resolution manually in wesnoth's config (obviously you should pick the resolution for your screen, not necessarily 1280x1024):

...
xresolution=1280
xwindowsize=1280
yresolution=1024
ywindowsize=1024
...

Seems that setting the windowsize alone (e.g. from the game 'Preferences' menu) doesn't cut it.

Thanks karol!

It seems as this solves the issues! The windowsize was set, but the resolution entries had no values....

Thank you!
