Random Crashing from inside KDE--nothing in logs

Hey all, I just installed Arch with KDE and I'm loving it so far, except for one problem. Every once in a while (maybe 24-36 hours), my system will randomly crash without warning. KDE freezes up, the sound shuts off (I can hear a "click" if I'm wearing my headphones), and the entire system reboots. It feels just like a real reboot except for the GUI freeze right before it happens.

The thing that really puzzles me is that nothing shows up in my logs (either that or I'm being a noob and looking at the wrong ones). Here's the output from my everything.log from the last one. If any logged events had caused the crash, they should have taken place around 15:32:30-ish (takes 30 seconds to reboot), but the closes event was a full 5 minutes before it rebooted.

Feb 22 15:01:01 localhost /USR/SBIN/CROND[1506]: (root) CMD (run-parts /etc/cron.hourly)
Feb 22 15:07:54 localhost kernel: [ 3075.646509] usb 2-4: USB disconnect, device number 2
Feb 22 15:27:54 localhost -- MARK --
#this is where the crash occured, nothing special marking it. The nex line marks the start of the boot process
Feb 22 15:32:54 localhost kernel: [    0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpuset
Feb 22 15:32:54 localhost kernel: [    0.000000] Initializing cgroup subsys cpu

I'm running an AMD 5850 with the xf86 driver as suggested by the Beginner's guide. Output of pacman -Qi xf86-video-ati is

I'm also running the most recent version of mesa from extras.

Does anybody have a clue to what's going on? I haven't lost anything important yet, but at this rate, I'm going to sooner or later sad

EDIT: I can't seem to determine any one particular activity that causes it. I've been watching videos, transferring files between drives, editing text, and sometimes not doing anything.

Re: Random Crashing from inside KDE--nothing in logs

1, if you have a dual boot on your machine, check the other os too...

2, if not, use some livecd

3, it looks like a hardware or kernel/driver problem to me sad
