"root" menu in GNOME

does anyone know of a way to make the GNOME menu popup when you left-click the desktop? i've been looking around and haven't found anything useful. i've always found this handy in WMs like fluxbox and E and would like to have it with GNOME.

Re: "root" menu in GNOME

Would you consider use OpenBox or Fluxbox along with Gnome? (instead of metacity), that way you could get, at least, right-click menu i think  roll

i thought about this but feel that  i'd be better off just using one of those other WMs.
