[SOLVED]Crashing after kernel upgrade

I upgraded linux (pacman -S linux).

When I reboot, I get a kernel panic. sad What do I do?

I tried before that pacman -S -u But I get conflicting files. /etc/mtab and /etc/profile.d/locale.sh

This is all right after a fresh install.

And lo, it came to pass, that the neophyte encountered the Beplattered One and humbly posed the question, "Oh great master, is it a sin to use vi?" And St. IGNUcius didst thus reply unto him, "No, my young hacker friend, it is not a sin. It is a penance."

Re: [SOLVED]Crashing after kernel upgrade

This is what I did:

I reinstalled the system.

Ran pacman -S -y

Then: pacman -S -f -u

It's up to date and running.

Re: [SOLVED]Crashing after kernel upgrade

You should read the front page news e.g. http://www.archlinux.org/news/filesyste … -required/

Edit: You shouldn't cherrypick packages to update, but always run 'pacman -Syu'.
