Xfce crashes on low battery

So I'm having kind of a strange problem. Whenever my battery percentage falls to 6%, at about the time it should give me a critical battery warning, Xfce crashes and after a few seconds, I get returned to the login screen. I'm using pm-utils for power management and I have an HP Pavilion dv6000.
Any help would be truly appreciated.

Re: Xfce crashes on low battery

I can only tell you that i'm using xfce4.8 too, and for me it is working very well, no crash, only warning.
Are you sure you have set only to show you a message when on critical battery, and not to do something else (suspend or hibernate)? It is just a try, probably a stupid thing, but it's better check to be sure! smile

Re: Xfce crashes on low battery

I definitely have it set to show a message and nothing more. Are there any log or config files I should check or commands I should run to try and pin down the problem?

Re: Xfce crashes on low battery

Does it still crash if you set it up to warn you at say 30% ?
Can you use notify-send ok ?

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me.

Re: Xfce crashes on low battery

Well, somehow the problem seems to have fixed itself. I don't really know what is different now unless it's the update I performed recently. I'm sorry to have wasted your time.
