How to change mouse sensitivity? (Solved)

Hey guys, I'm having trouble changing mouse sensitivity.

Right now I have the x window system installed with openbox. All that stuff works. I want to change my mouse sensitivity(using an Acer Aspire AO722, so changing the trackpad sensitivity). Now I find that xset: m should work, except everytime I try the xset command I get an error,

xset: unable to open display ""

Not sure what to do, help needed. Thanks!

Re: How to change mouse sensitivity? (Solved)

How exactly are you using xset - in some config file (please post it), typing in the terminal (post the exact command you're using) in X - it won't work from the console.

You're not running it as root by any chance (needs to be done by your "normal" user)?

I didn't realize that it had to be done in X. I got so used to just using the console tongue
