Better KDE integration in pure openbox

I have a quick question about one specific problem I've had since reinstalling arch on my new hard drive.
Qt apps (vlc, sonic-visualiser, pencil, etc) don't follow the icon theme I have set in both kde system-settings and lxappearance.
This is especially noticeable in the open/save dialogs, and on that point as well:  kgtk-wrapper does not work in my openbox setup, but it does work if I run an openbox-xde session.
So, basically, what do I need to run at startup to make Qt apps behave like they're in a KDE session with proper icon theming, and to make kgtk-wrapper work?

Re: Better KDE integration in pure openbox

Yup, I've been there before, and I had that suggested bit of code in the appropriate place.

I think I need to start some specific part of KDE, but I don't want the whole thing, just whatever background process takes care of icon theming or something?
