Past week I completed my first Arch Linux install in a laptop and everything works flawlessly, so I decided to install it also in my desktop computer. I boot from the CD, choose "Boot Arch Linux" option, some boot messages appear, some services start, and before udev service shows the [DONE] status, my monitor goes out of frequency and I can't see anything.
My monitor is a LG Flatron F900P (CRT with a max resolution of 1600x1200). Why is installation not working? Is there a way to force a working video mode during boot?

Have you tried out any of these tips?
What video card do you have?
Can't check this atm, but isn't it possible to select a screen resolution while booting the CD?

Video card reported by lspci: nVidia Corporation GT200 [GeForce GTX 260] (rev a1).
I haven't seen any video options in the boot menu. I suppose there's a way of passing the correct option to the kernel, but I don't know how to do it.
I haven't tested the tricks for the Intel cards. I'll try them to see what happens.

Before booting the CD, append vga=771 or 773 (800x600 or 1024x768) to the kernel line. For the list of available VESA modes, go to 'Hardware Information'.

Tried vga=771 and vga=773, but that didn't work. Boot messages appear in the specified resolution, but again, before udev finishes, monitor goes out of frequency.
Then tried the video=SVIDEO-1:d and nothing, and finally tried the acpi=off and voila!, it works!
Thanks!
