Looking at the GUI tools, file managers is not Linux's strong suite is it? No love for Nautilus (understandable to my mind) which should be at the forefront of file managers. I love Thunar, but it fairly bare bones as file managers go. The rest are either old or equally bare bones, aside from Dolphin and maybe Krusader. I am not surprised that Dolphin comes out on top, since it is the only file manager with ambitions of being full-featured, but thinking about the situation I am perhaps a bit surprised that it has no real competition for that spot.

While this may be true in general, for file managing I don't find CLI quicker. For me it's faster to navigate through graphical representations of files/folders than to write ls, cp, mv plus various paths.
OnT: I'm suprised that qtfm got so little votes, in my opinion it deservs more. If you haven't tried it, do so.

With cli completion, I can't imagine anything that's faster than the standard nix tools. I have PCManFM, but the only thing I actually use it for is browsing media. For actual work, cli is best.

I love ROX. Not sure what I will do when/if it becomes obsolete. I could probably get used to Rodent, which I find interesting, but not quite there.
