Asus K53SC (Core i7) or Samsung NP300E5A (Core i5)?

I've been looking for a laptop and I've come down to these two options, what'd you propose me to get?

I've heard Asus is good with Linux (in BIOS level) but I'm a bit skeptic.

Re: Asus K53SC (Core i7) or Samsung NP300E5A (Core i5)?

I think that if you're going to really use a lot of processing power go for the better processor, if not go to the i5 and i think that even that one is too powerful for just normal daily tasks.

I don't like asus, i got my second one and i have some problems with it on linux. And my specific laptop has many glossy parts.

I never got a samsung and i don't have any friend with one, but from the litlle i played with it on a store i liked its keyboard and touchpad.

Related to linux support i recommend that you search very well for all the components and see their current support ( wireless and graphic card specially ) and look for bugs or posts on forums.

Other things i personally would care about would be the screen size, weight and how hot it can get. You could try to find specific reviews on sites like http://www.notebookcheck.net/ .
