[SOLVED] Keyboard feels unresponsive and slugish

Hi,

I noticed that when I'm in "pure" terminal (ctrl+alt+f1) then the keyboard feels very responsive.
The typing is very smooth, and if for example I push and hold a key I can see that the rate at which
the key is printed is high.

But when in xfce, the keyboard feels much more slugish. When doing the same exercise with pushing
the button down I can notice a significant difference in the rate at which the key is printed. And btw,
this applies to everything - firefox, terminator, etc. the effect isn't limited to just one application.

How can I solve this?

Thanks!

Settings Manager -> Keyboard and adjust the key repeat speed
