Can't watch video streams in Firefox/Chromium

Hi,
I don't watch video streams that often so I don't know since when I have this problem. When I want to start some streams I only get a gray window from mplayer (gecko-mediaplayer) and the PC becomes unresponsive for a few seconds and I can't watch it. The same is with chromium but I tried out the stream in Konqueror and everything is fine (I assume it uses kmplayer which is installed, too).

Anything to delete in my ~/ or what else could be messed up?

\edit: Here's an example that only works in Konqueror: http://interaktiv.phoenix.de/livestream/

No problem here with this link and gecko-mediaplayer in Firefox (x86_64 system).
The stream delivers repetitively a music with a fixed logo screen; but I don't know if the program is accessible in France where I live.

But no gray window and no peak in cpu usage.

This is because there's currently no stream available (quelque chose comme une mire). But this I can only see in Konqueror that gives me a crash report whenever I close the stream sad

Have you looked into log files: .xsession-errors or others ?
