[solved] Asus N53 Wireless rt2800usb 5.8ghz issue

Hi,
Just purchased a Asus USB N53 Adapter (operates on 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz), it uses the Ralink RT2800USB, when scanning for networks I can see 2.4GHz just fine however no 5.8GHz networks appear, anyone got an idea as to why? The router is an Airport Extreme running on channel 100, used both iwlist and network manager to look for the network.

**Update**
Problem was related to the country not set for the wireless regs, the result was blocking the 5GHz channel I was using, installed crda and used regdom to set the wireless country.
