ath9k WiFi. Led always ON!

Hey guys,

I have a problem with Linux and my laptop. The WiFi led is not working right. Normally, when the WiFi is turned on (from the keyboard button) the led should be constantly white and when the WiFi is off, it should be orange. The problems is that the led is always WHITE no matter if the WiFi is switched on or off. Help me please.

I don't know if this helps but, yeah:

modinfo -F parm ath9k
debug:Debugging mask (uint)
nohwcrypt:Disable hardware encryption (int)
blink:Enable LED blink on activity (int)
btcoex_enable:Enable wifi-BT coexistence (int)

I'm giving this a strong bumpage as I have the same problem. It would be great if we could find a solution.
I remember the LED working in some distro but sadly I don't in which one. Maybe it was Mint.

Tried Mint, it's not.

Maybe OpenSUSE? The laptop came with that OS installed, at least the touchpad switch and led worked in that distro.

It probably was Mint Debian edition because I have the same problem in Ubuntu.
Other then that I have tried Mageia, Lubuntu and Fuduntu and out of these three I'm not sure only about Fuduntu. I'm going to try it tomorrow and report back.

And OpenSUSE may indeed be worth a try. It came with my laptop as well.

EDIT: no luck with mint debian edition.

Please let me know if you find one that works.
Also, does the TouchPad led/on-off switch work for you?

Re: ath9k WiFi. Led always ON!

*sigh* can't get the SUSE to boot from USB. I need to find a DVD.

And no touchpad led doesn't work even in Win7 with official drivers. Although it does work in Win8 without any extra drivers.
