[solved] Xfce4, new windows position

In Xfce4 is there an easy way to change the default behavior of where a new window is placed?

At the moment many windows (but not all, I am not sure how xfce decides) appear in the center of the screen.
The ideal would be that a new window should try to cover existing windows less possible.

Is there a setting for this behavior?

This can be done to a certain degree through Xfce Menu --> Settings --> Window Manager Tweaks --> Placement (Smart Placement or whatever it's called).

There's also xfwm-tiling in the AUR (does exactly what the name suggests); but that may be quite a bit more then you actually want/need.

Thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for. It seems xfce places smaller windows in the center of screen. I just reduced the minimum size to enable the smarter behavior. I will also look the tiling idea, so thanks twice.
