[SOLVED] Save Boot Messages to Log File?

I'd like to retain my boot messages into a log file. I read the wiki article about disabling the clearing of boot messages, and I'd rather save them into a file.

Would something like this at the end of /etc/rc.local work?

| cat > /var/log/bootlog

I'm pretty sure my code is a bit off, but I think that's the general idea.

They're already saved for you in /var/log/boot
