Shrak,

I though that funky bar is like some bash script or something.  Anywho, pretty nice colors, and good looking working place.  I would say you got a style.

I had a dzen/bash version of the top bar a while ago but forgot to copy my /home during a drive swap and lost it. And was too lazy to do it all again, lol. Maybe when I get more free time I'll make something up again.

This is my current desktop:

I used Gotham-Conky as a base for my config. It shows mpd info when something is playing smile

Well After Gtk-3.4 broke my theme, and some other update issues....

....I got a new theme going, and it's called Blackbird ~ based on Bluebird, but a little les google chrome like. I'm pretty happy with it, thus far.

tZGloOA

I've made new buttons, pixmaps and other things, and you'll notice the active-window has a blue-ish 1px bevel in it's decoration, where as the un-focused windows don't. (I believe that is new to gtk3.4, not positive though)

There are still a few details to fix with the theme, but it's usable with gtk-3.4 anyway. (with murrine/unico engines pulled from git/bzr)

@ellak: What's that pager/task-manager-lookin' dealie you've got in your screenshot?

It's an xmonad extension in the xmonad-contrib package. It pops up a sorted list of all windows on all workspaces and then jumps to the workspace that has the window you select.

Here's my current setup, using Gnome Shell 3.4, a few extensions and three conky scripts.

Here's a thumbnail:

EDIT : I updated it to display my tasks using the todo.txt CLI script. I'm using the Android app Todo.txt touch as well, and it's unbelievably awesome to add a task from my phone and watch it magically appear on my desktop, in a matter of seconds!

Is it openbox and tint2? Could you share this theme? It's great!

Re: April 2012 Screenshots

I just found out about arch, I love the simplicity and the relative ease of use. Here are some pretty screenshot for you guys :

Browsing (*simulation)
This is a pretty fair depiction of what my screen might look like while I'm browsing. The more observant amongst you might notice that everything is transparent, even the web pages. To achieve this, I spent hours configuring compiz and I'm really glad I did because now my powerful graphic card makes itself useful. Just kidding, I would never consider doing such a thing.

If I had, how would I explain this

In the spirit of making the most out of the least, I have chosen not to uselessly include a compositing window manager. This is actually done using some nice urxvt pseudo-transparency and a clever bit of custom css, which involves a lighttpd until I figure out an alternative way to access a local file from uzbl's style.css.

Actually working
This is a shot that was taken while I was tweaking my uzbl color scheme, I was trying out a bunch of different colors to find out what I wanted, this layout made everything so easy.

In case you are wondering, the wm I use is i3, which I wholeheartedly endorse. It is fast, light and it does what I tell it to do. Music player is mpd and ncmpc, I just started using them so I don't have much to say, but they work very well and wicked fast too.

Just try the transparent web pages, you have no idea what you're missing.

Here is a pastebin of the css that makes my webpages look awesome : http://pastebin.com/yusVaiyf. You're going to need to place this in a css file that your browser will apply to all the pages it renders. For uzbl that's ~/.config/uzbl/style.css, it's going to be something else for other browsers but I don't know about that.

Have fun brothers and sisters,
-Chris
