Hello,
I have a Creative Fatal1ty professional and it works perfectly.
The problem is with S/PDIF.
I have my PS3 connected to the S/PDIF-in, so I can use my computer's speakers with the PS3.
In others distros, I had a s/pdif-in and a s/pdif-out but here in Arch, I just have a "s/pdif" control (but the PS3 have no sound).
I was looking at the alsa guide in the wiki. In concrete there is a part for getting a "s/pidf-out" control (well, I just need the input), anyway, the steps doesn't match in my box.

EDIT: Curiosly, in arch live, I configure the network, install alsa, and it works like a charm.

Ok, after some research, I discovered that it have to be with the kernel.
Tried ubuntu 12.04 live and new gentoo live (both uses recent kernels) and same stuff.
That's why mint (old kernel) and arch boot cd (old kernel) are working.
Since is lack of features, should I fill a bug somewhere?

Yes. To be thorough I would systematically install kernel versions (from old Arch tarballs) until you can pinpoint the one that breaks your sound setup. Then I would see if Arch made any major change to the .config file between those two versions. If not, it's a kernel bug. Hopefully the people from kernel.org don't subsequently tell you to use git bisect to find the exact problematic commit.
