Re: Help with ipod touch 2nd Gen.

If it has iOS5 on it, you won't be able. The current libimobiledevice doesn't support the newest music database yet, and they have been working on it for quite some time without results.

The only way to get it to work is to ********* it and roll back the music database. I haven't done it on mine yet, but I'll probably do it eventually if the libimobile device devs can't crack the database scheme.

Still nothing. Ive changed the DB version generated a new hashfile and put it in /mnt/ipod/itunes_control/device.

Re: Help with ipod touch 2nd Gen.

The 2nd gen stopped at iOS 4.2.1 so you may have a chance... Personally I gave up on using hacks and accepted the fact that by owning an Apple product you are married to iTunes. Seriously, iTunes is your ball and chain. It's a bloated piece of crap but you have to deal with it... So I use VirtualBox with a lightweight copy of Windows XP (TinyXP Rev. 11) just for iTunes, Cyder 2, iFunBox, etc. I even applied an OS X theme, cursor, icon pack, wallpaper. Looks pretty cool actually. wink 512 MB RAM allocated and the .vdi container takes up 2 GB (NTFS disk compression activated), with a shared folder mounted as drive D: ...

I have made a personal commitment not to reply in topics that start with a lowercase letter. Proper grammar and punctuation is a sign of respect, and if you do not show any, you will NOT receive any help (at least not from me).

Re: Help with ipod touch 2nd Gen.

Thanks for the help guys smile
I've managed to find a way to sync music using ifuse to mount and an app called PwnTunes.
So I'll just have to wait for maybe some more support for iOS.
