UK/London Crystal Palace DVB data post-switchover

Hi, good morning. Just posting this here in case it helps anyone based in the London area.

The UK digital switch over in the London area happened on 4th April (today) so you'll need to re-scan your dvb. For this to detect the new PSB1 (BBCA) mux you'll need to modify your "initial-tuning-data-file" that is passed to the "scan" command.

I found adding the following line into the file /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace worked for me:

T 490000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 8k 1/32 NONE

You'll need to re-scan. This is what I do (I'm using the Arch VDR package):

scan -o vdr -e 3 -p -x 0 -t 3 -u -U -q -q /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace > /var/lib/vdr/channels.conf

I hope this saves someone a few minutes' frustration smile

The below information is for use following DSO phase 2 (i.e. from April 18th):

Or you could use w_scan [1] and do without an initial scan file altogether. However there are cases where the card/driver will not play well with w_scan and quit working mid scan.
