cryptsetup remote keyfile - samba?

is it possible to get the keyfile in cryptsetup with samba from another already running machine rather than from usb?

i have a homeserver running all the time password-encrypted. would be nice if my machine could get the keyfile from that homeserver.

systemd is like pacman. enjoys eating up stuff.

Re: cryptsetup remote keyfile - samba?

ok so the keyfile-path would be cryptkey=/media/share/keyfile, but how do I mount the share before the kernel loads?

(nfs-mount or samba-mount)

do i have to write a custom hook in mkinitcpio?

Not sure if it's possible via a samba share (also would not exactly be my preferred choice of sharing a key), but if ssh is an option; have a look here.
