So I was installing the linux-ck kernel today. I have had success with installing it, so I decided to make a few changes.
I turned on BFS and make localmodconfig,
now there is the error of
Error: could not insert 'nvidia' :Exec format error
I had installed nvidia-ck before I restarted the computer and removed nvidia. I have tried different combinations of the drivers, including the open version. Here is some commands I ran
lshw -C display

I than tried to revert back to the original untouched linux-ck kernel it is now producing the same error. The only kernel that is working is the regular one that comes with Arch

I love computers, networking and Arch Linux. Sometimes I might ask a stupid question, but please have grace with me like I would with you.

So I was just recompiling another kernel and I noticed this. It is still compiling I just thought that it might be related.
==> Running Steven Rostedt's make localmodconfig now
using config: '.config'
nvidia config not found!!

OK, I had this problem as well earlier tonight as I was installing linux-ck,
What I did was booted into the -ck kernel (ignoring the errors) and made sure that linux-ck-headers were installed.
I then reinstalled nvidia-ck and modprobed it within the -ck kernel, which was successful. After rebooting it worked as well.
Does this work for you?
