Compiling GCL

Has anyone compiled gcl recently? I have been trying to use the 2 pkgbuilds in aur; namely "gcl" and "gcl-cvs".

Unfortunately, they both fail with a message like the following:

Error: ERROR "Someone tried to RETURN-FROM a TAGBODY."

Signalled by TAGBODY.
ERROR "Someone tried to RETURN-FROM a TAGBODY."

Broken at TAGBODY.  Type :H for Help.

==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...
The build failed.

If anyone has had success compiling gcl, I would appreciate it.
I can't use an alternative, since I require this for a class.
