XBMC Joystick as remote without focus

Hi

I'm running XBMC on a arch desktop with two screens.
A LED TV and a small screen as primary screen.

A similar setup as described here

I use a wireless xbox360 controller as remote. the controller was detected out of the box by arch/kde4.
my problem is that when the xbmc windows has no focus the remote does not work.

Question
Is there a way to say that the joystick input of the xbox 360 controller always control xbmc and no other window?
