I can't install catalyst package

I today want upgrade my system and I need remove catalyst package to do this.

My pacman says:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: catalyst: requires linux<3.3

Now I've update system, and remove catalyst. I use catalyst unofficial repo, not aur, but the same user has both.

I read this : http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=29111 catalyst need'nt linux<3.3

How fix them?

Re: I can't install catalyst package

I can't understand what you have tried from your post. But did you try AUR?

Re: I can't install catalyst package

Ok, I try describe this as good as I can.

I want update my system today, and I received above message from pacman(I use unofficial catalyst repo). So I uninstall catalyst package and I do upgrade. Now If i try install again catalyst package I receive still this same message. I try install catalyst form AUR and from repo.

Now I have current kernel, but I haven't catalyst. And now I want in some way install again my catalyst package.

Re: I can't install catalyst package

The catalyst package needs to be built against the kernel you are running, and the one in the unofficial repo appears to be build for linux 3.2.x .

If you want to use the linux 3.3 kernel with catalyst you can wait until a catalyst version built against 3.3 comes to the unofficial repo,

OR you can build catalyst yourself using 1 of the AUR packages for it.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Re: I can't install catalyst package

And build from AUR is difficult? smile

1.Yes.
2.I don't think building from AUR is difficult.

Re: I can't install catalyst package

I have the same probem using just [catalyst] repository.

Because few days ago kernel 3.3.x was added and catalyst has dependency for kernel<3.3 I am now seing the same error.

Check this post from the author of [catalyst] repository.
