Hi. I'd like to join arch mailing lists in order to receive stuff I need to know to keep from screwing up my system and important stuff that I need to know to make sure everything works. In other words, which mailing lists should a typical arch user (not developer) join?

Just the one, arch-announce, is enough.
I think I also use the RSS feed from the Arch Linux home page, but that's probably redundant.

Arch-general and Arch-announce are probably the most important ones.

I am new to Arch and joined arch-announce 2 weeks ago. Since my registration I never got an email. Is that normal?

Hi. I joined arch-announce and arch-general. I was finding that I was getting a whole lot of emails from arch-general, but I found most of them were too specific for me. I don't think I got anything from arch-announce yet. I guess it's typical that arch-announce mails are few and far between.

There have been no announcements for a while (last one dating 07/02/2012).

arch-dev-public is more important than arch-announce
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
