Hello all! Yesterday i updated my system (Arch x64) and i got a problem after it. I use Hercules dj-controller(midi) for my music projects and the Archsystem demands hdjmod package to work with it. It compiles from AUR by extracting data from rpm package that is published on vendor(Hercules) ftp-server. Every time when i update my system I rebuild hdjmod package for new kernel version and all work exccelent. In this time i did the same, but after loading built module into kernel and connecting device my system falls to kernel panic mode. I downgraded my system to the previous package versions(kernel 3.3-1 to 3.2.11, udev.kmod and etc), rebuild the module, connected device, but the result is the same. It seems that the version of module package has changed, but i can't explain it because the pacman(sudo yaourt -Si hdjmod) gives me an information that the package was updated last time in AUR in August 2011.Please give me advice what to do, i need this device to work,

Whoops, i'm having the same problem, seems like a serious driver bug. I'm running kernel 3.3.1-1-ARCH on i686, device is 'Hercules Dj Control Mp3 E2', device id: 06f8:b105. Getting the same kernel panic:
Kernel panic - not syncing: stack protector: Kernel stack is corrupted in fa982606
panic occured, switching back to text consoleLast known working setup was with kernel 3.1.6-1.

Hi guys,
I'm unfortunately not able to fix it or reproduce the issue as I lack both the hardware and a 64bit system.
You have also to be aware that the Dj Control Mp3 E2 was never officially supported by the upstream driver. It was just quickly hacked in by one of the Mixxx developpers so there is no guaranty here.
Can you try this patch for USB hotplugging and see if it does any good?

If that doesn't help, I would then suggest to report the issue on the Mixxx forums:

Hi,
sorry for my late reply. I tried the patch (thanks gimmeapill), still got kernel panic. I also tried out the module version form slist.lilotux.net and from this ubuntu ppa, both do kernel panics. Don't have the time atm to bring this over to the mixxx forum and keep an eye on that discussion, sorry.

Ok, here's a quick & dirty pkgbuild for Neale's branch:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=62132
Please note that I didn't test it as I don't own that hardware.
If somebody wants to take over, just pm me and I'll orphan the pkgbuild
