Hi, guys!
I bought around one year ago this cheap Acer TM 5735z that came with Windows 7 Home Premium installed.
Just after buying it I tried to install several GNU/Linux distros with no success till I found out there is a bug regarding to the screen of the laptop with Linux in a way that almost any distro turns on the screen so the system is working perfectly but the screen isn't so it's useless. I found a way to turn it on manually so I did and I even made a script to be executed right after booting but this was very uncomfortable and inapropriate -it didn't support hybernation, bright control, etc.-.
So I thought my favourite GNU/Linux distro would work but surprisingly Arch doesn't even boot for the first steps of the installation.
I feel really frustrated since there should be a way to install GNU/Linux and make it works normally on this problematic laptop but I can't find it so I ask for your help. Is there anybody with this laptop?
Thanks in advance

Have you tried all the suggestions on Ubuntu bug.

I tried some of those commands and made my own scripts but I was more asking about if there was some "official patch" to solve the issue.
Anyway, thanks a lot, brebs because since the last time I visited that bug track there is new info.
