resize window of gnome system settings (gnome-control-center)

AFAIK, the gnome 3 system settings (gnome-control-center) has a non-resizeable window by design. However, in some of my use cases this just doesn't work and I end up with scrollbars that shouldn't be there. I just fail to figure out how to force a window to be resizeable in gnome 3. Is there someone who can give me any pointers?

I've found indications that the Ubuntu packages have tweaked the sizing behaviour slightly with respect to the stock GNOME packages. Does this mean there is only one way: change the hard coded sizing and recompile?

Re: resize window of gnome system settings (gnome-control-center)

You could edit

/usr/share/gnome-control-center/ui/shell.ui

and change the "resizable" property to "True"

<property name="resizable">True</property>

ah, it's that simple...it has been bugging me and spend already quite some time trying to figure it out. Should have asked earlier :-) Thanks!
