Wireless keyboard intermittent - Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 7000

I have the Microsuck wireless keyboard and mouse set, the natural ergo 7000 series.  I have always been a big fan of this keyboard/mouse but lately I am afraid I may have to dump it...  When using the keyboard with Arch Linux (64-bit, up to date), the keyboard is intermittent.  Every minute or so, it cuts out for about 20 seconds and I have to wait for it to pick back up.  As I am a sysadmin for a living, this can pose potentially disastrous consequences...

I have eliminated the keyboard, mouse and receiver as faulty by using them with several other machines successfully.  I have also eliminated interference from other devices.  I am down to a hardware kernel module or some other oddity in Arch that is causing this random and annoying effect.

I am curious if anyone has any ideas (useful only please) or has experienced a similar behavior.  I should note this behavior never affects the mouse, only the keyboard.

Thanks in advance!

Hello!
Have you found any solution? I experience the same problem with Arch & Debain based distros & OpenSuse too.
