Maxima - problem with arrow buttons

I've installed maxima 5.26.0. In console when I want to navigate through the command line (ex. change something or get last commnad from history) I get something like this: "^[[A^[[B". Rest of keyboard buttons (except right side - I mean: arrows, pgup, pgdown and Num keyboard) work ok. How can I repair this?

Re: Maxima - problem with arrow buttons

On arch, maxima is built against sbcl, which does not support gnu readline (the arrow key navigation).

Building against clisp instead of sbcl fixes this, but its probably more convenient for you to install rlwrap, then use rmaxima, which will give you arrow key navigation.

Alternately, you could try wxMaxima. I usually hate GUIs, but wxMaxima's interface is pretty nice.
