Dear Archers
I have removed from my system 'eog', 'cheese' and other gnome packages that I do not use. Today, when I tried to upgrade, it is including the removed packages also. Is it now like this? All or none?

Its becoz the metapackage 'gnome' is getting updated this time. It has dependencies.
Offline
I do not know for eog, but cheese is now a dependency of gnome-control-center.
@hadrons123: afaik, there is no such thing as a gnome metapackage, only a gnome group.
Offline
maybe you have eog-plugins and you removed eog with -Rdd ?
to find out why is pulled use --debug
we don't have a meta package for gnome
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

sorry mybad. Vlc , wonder are right.
Had been in Debian world for a while.

Anyway, as usual, I have to manually remove unused packages. Earlier, only tose packages that were explicitly installed, were upgraded. Now, it is forcing me to accept all, or none
