Nvidia Drivers & brightness issues

Hey all. I incorrectly posted this question in the laptop section, so I apologize in advance for the duplicate post.

Once I installed the Nvidia drivers for my 330M, I have been unable to change the brightness. At first I thought it was just a keyboard shortcut problem, but I noticed that when I manually tweak the brightness settings in the Nvdia Xserver program, the brightness reverts back to full after a second even though the slider doesn't. The brightness DOES change, but only temporarily. Also, setting the brightness to dim on battery power in power options dims the monitor as it should.

Any help with this is appreciated.

Re: Nvidia Drivers & brightness issues

I do not have the file 20-nvidia.conf, but I made the same changes to /etc/X11/ xorg.conf with no effect. My xorg.conf.d contains the following files: 10-edev.conf, 10-quirks.conf, 10-synaptics.conf.

I also tried installing nvidia-bl, and installing nvidiabl. I restarted the computer both times and nothing changed.
