Currently, I am running unrealtournament and redorchestra, savage, stronghold. I prefer native linux games, but will run on them using transgaming's cedega, if it is worth and if they do.
I miss some space simulation (xwin or wing commander style) or submarine (like silent hunter [danger deep is still not playable]).

angband, theres pkgbuilds on AUR
enemy territory, it rocks too.

angband is to much hardcore for my taste: I guess, if you would apply a patch, you'ld notice all those hidden sex scenes in it, lol.

Well, let's see...
Another vote for Enemy Territory, with mods.
Neverwinter Nights is still great, and there are a lot of new modules and content over at nwvault.ign.com to make it last longer. Among other things there are quite a few persistent worlds, that more or less rebuilds nwn into a mini-mmorpg, out there. The single player campaigns are hours of fun too, if you havn't played them already.
Americas Army is a great game too, hope Icculus can get 2.4.0 out of beta soon
Dominions 2 is really making up for the lack of commercial strategy games in linux. Although it does have quite a threashold, since it isn't very pretty and has a rough ui.
Space simulator? Have you tried Vega Strike?

or No Gravity

Glest, planeshift and tribal trouble are worth mentioning too, but I havn't played them at length.
There are more for sure, but this is enough for now...

well there's a freespace 2 linux port, needs the full game for model data and the like but if you look around the net for a little bit you can find legit data files (apparently freespace got open sourced a few years ago). don't know how well it works never tried it myself. but freespace is the best space sim ever made in my and everyone i know's opinion.

Doom III single player is fun. I bought the expansion too, not as long as I hoped it would be, but still satisfying. Multi player for Doom III is sub-par. Withought the expansion the max players per server is 4. I think now the max is like 10 or 12. I do play deathmatch on occasion, but its the same 4 freaking maps over and over ..... I cant find anyone who plays CTF (capture the flag) on a regular basis. Doom III graphics are simply put, amazing. But the poor multi-player code and sluggish ping times on the few servers that are out there bring the game down a few stars in my book. If you have access to Cedega, and you can handle the headaches that come with wine and directx games, then Half-Life 2 is rockin! I think cedega only runs HL2 in directx 8 mode, but it still looks nice. There are tons of servers and many cool mods. Hopefully the doom3 engine will provide me my multi-player fix when Quake 4 comes out (hopefully by early fall) and then Enemy Territory: Quake 4 hits the shelves sometime in 06.
Thats my two cents.

Out of all the games in the repos, my favorite is wesnoth.

Here is my all-time favorites list:
1. Jagged Alliance 2 I remember how I spent hours and hours playing it when I still used Windows. It was a sheer pleasure! Mercenaries, moders guns, a distant Island and a cruel dictator to be beaten.... And role play and character building and resource management! I have seen that Wine should run it - haven't tried it though.
2. Aces of the Deep. Great submarine action!
3. Fallout 2 - dark strategy/role playing game in post-nuclear war future

I think Jagged Alliance 2 has been ported to linux...

Don't forget lbreakout2... Can kill your time if you're bored.
Anyway, the only Linux games I bothered playing were Enemy Territory and Doom3 single player. I enjoyed those games, but with all respect; any other Linux games just aren't good enough if you're used to Windows games.
And I just can't stand games like (z)angband or MUDs. I guess I'm stepping on many people's toes here, but I'd have to beat myself with a stick to play a game like that. Let alone getting addicted to it.
P.S. Planeshift is rolling along nicely too. The binary installer works fine, and the game runs decently. I haven't dived deep enough in it yet though.

Nexuiz is good from time to time. ZSNES and Mupen64 definitely add much flexibility in gaming and add tons of awesome games, as does ePSXe and most other emulators.
However, the game that I find to be the most fun is Maple Story, which is a 2D MMORPG. However, it has major problems in wine and does not work in cedega at all, so unless you have an install of Windows then do not bother. For those who are still interested....

Warzone 2100 was pretty good fun in its day.
Nowadays, it Art of Conquest (Empire Earth upgrade).
Unfortunately, both are Windows only (although WZ works under wine). Only reason I still have Windows installed.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (with a Genesis emulator on Linux) is fast and furious fun.

Got me interested in freespace 2, although im not sure where to get the linux version from. (hard copy)

Savage. Also, Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix runs flawlessly under Cedega.
Edit: Also, I used to love playing around in Rpgmaker when running Windows, so currently I am working on a substitute in pygame. Remans to see if I develop as useable GUI.

Anyone got a link to that freespace 2 port? I'd like to check it out!

well the port is here: http://icculus.org/freespace2/index.php it requires the full game though.
Seeing as it's open source (and i think volition/interplay is dead) i wouldn't beat myself up about getting an iso off the net, failing that you can probably bodge together something between here and here
also http://scp.indiegames.us/content.php?content.4 might work well enough but i don't know much about it.
if you do manage to get it installed http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/hlp/ is sort of the main site for the mod community
