Midori and default browser problems

I just installed Midori and it decided to make itself the default browser instead of Firefox.

xdg-open http://www.google.com

opens Firefox prior to install and Midori after.

I partially fixed this by adding

[Default Applications]
x-scheme-handler/http=firefox.desktop;

to ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list.
But now I get an error saying

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Iceweasel process, or restart your system.

when I try to click links (from Terminal or Skype) because Firefox is already open, instead of doing the normal behavior of opening the page in a new tab.

Does anyone know how to fix that error?
Thanks.

Re: Midori and default browser problems

Did you try to kill Iceweasel or restart your system?

Re: Midori and default browser problems

Sorry. I should add that it's giving me that error because I have it open. Normally (i.e. without Midori installed), it opens the page in a new tab, but now it give me that error instead.
