Opening XPlane results in glx error

Looking for OpenAL here: libopenal.so
Starting thread loader.

running NVIDIA Corporation G84M [Quadro FX 570M] with lastest nvidia driver. GLX seems to run ok (tried glxgears)

any ideas?
