Ouch. ewaller slowly shakes his head.
Let us talk about 'Freeze'.
Are the keyboard lights flashing? That would be indicative of a kernel panic.
During a freeze, if you press the Caps Lock or Num Lock keys on the keyboard, do the corresponding keyboard lights change state?
During a freeze, can you log into your box from another computer via ssh?
During a freeze, can you ping your box from another computer on the network?
During a freeze, do dedicated keys and buttons for display brightness, audio mute, etc.. work?

I had this problem with my Acer Aspire. the trick was to set networkboot as the first boot option.

Can you explain us a bit more? I don't think is 'normal' that trick...
and what about this? https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=140110 https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29276
btw...cannot install 'nada',tried to install linux-lts and hangs on installing(and that on fallback) can't upgrade...
impossible to work, speechless that it happens to the 'best' distro[supposedly]
no chance to get logs, just to SHUTDOWN! by button on box!!
keyword dead when you hit cap lock o number lock keys

@1archgameon2: I note that you use Archbang as well. Can you verify that this is a pure Arch system, or is it Archbang?

Thank you.
No need to prove it -- I am just making sure we are not chasing our tail and barking up the wrong tree.
Carry on.
So, It appears that your system hangs, but does not panic (You did not answer as to whether the keyboard LEDs flash, but the impression was they are off and do not respond to Caps Lock)
Did you try pinging the machine from the network as I suggested?
Can you try a simpler desktop environment like OpenBox as an experiment? Maybe it is not kde.
When it dies, is the disk access light stuck on?

If you boot to runlevel 3 can you install what you need then? Or can you boot from CD/USB, chroot and update/install as needed?
Have you tried switching to a tty, killing X or enabling the "sysreq" key?
On mine, I can get info by using the sysreq key even though the system is o/w unresponsive. (I can't shutdown cleanly this way, unfortunately, and I can't see that anything useful is happening but I did get info.) I'm not sure it has done me any good, mind, but maybe you will have better luck.
